Wilemon Acres Neighborhood Association’s September Yard of the Month is 2400 Ruth, the home of R.O. and Francis Green. The Greens have lived in their home for 43 years. Mr. Green is retired from a Food Brokerage Company in Memphis and Mrs. Green is retired from BancorpSouth.

A Short History

In 1963, North Foster and Holmes Streets were dirt roads with no development.

1965

• The first home on Foster Street was built and

 occupied by Billy Spencer who still resides there today.
• Ruth Street had 13 homes built with 9 occupied and 4 vacant
• North Joann Street had 9 houses built with 7 houses occupied and 2 vacant
• Ione Street had 3 houses built with 1 occupied and 2 vacant

1967

• South Joann Street had 2 homes built and occupied
• Danny Street had 1 home built and vacant
• Ruth Street had 15 homes built and occupied

1988 – Crabapple was developed and is still under construction.

In the early 1990’s, Winfield subdivision was developed and is still under construction.
